Virtualization giant, VMware, announced earlier this week they have signed a long-term lease for new office space in San Jose. Their new Silicon Valley space will add one million square feet of space and up to 2,500 jobs, and was able to beat out the coveting Google, among others.

In an on-going trend, another venture capital company is moving its headquarters from office space in Waltham and moving on to a bigger city location. Advanced Technology Ventures confirmed they will be moving this year, looking at either Boston or Cambridge.

Forest City Enterprises has announced this week new plans to develop a new mixed-use project in Frisco, Tex. The project, known as Frisco North, will include retail, residential and office space, as well as include entertainment features, public parks and various open spaces.

Real estate group, Parkway Properties, has joined forces with Eola Capital LLC to buy out a 6-building portfolio for office space in Atlanta, Florida, and Philadelphia. The $462 million deal is set to close by June 30th.
